Native, Grows rarely in Capo Testa in 3 locations, on fixed-dune systems (Duo-Mari, Giardino del Polpo & Valle Star Trek Portal). Pollinated by bees & unspecific insects. Endemic to Sardinia, Corsica, Spain & Portugal. Family: Plumbaginaceae.

Asparagus acutifolius

Wild Asparagus

Native. Grows abundantly in a variety of habitats including woodland, macchia & gariga in part-shade in the undergrowth. Dioecious and polinated by insects, especially bees. Edible, preferred by some gourmets due to its strong flavour, collected from the wild since ancient times (an important crop in some localities). Used in folk medicine as a diuretic. May attract various beetles/insects to feed on the shoot tips. IUCN Least Concern. Family: Asparagaceae.

Camphorosma monspeliaca

Camphor of Montpellier

Native. Found growing abundantly in coastal, rocky areas, specifically coastal elicriso gariga & locations that form a mossaic with dune/rocky grassland (Valle 3B, Cala di Mezzu (2nd Valle) & Valle 5B). Pollination method unknown , but assumed due to flower shape & colour, solitary bees/Lepidoptera &/or Coleoptera. An Essential oil can be derived, and amongst other uses is used as an anti-asthmatic. IUCN Not-evaluated. Family: Amaranthaceae.

Helichrysum microphyllum

Elicriso

Native & Endemic to Northern Sardinia/Corsica. In numerous locations throughout rocky areas (chasmophytic) and cave entrances, normally in part-shade, relatively close to the sea - elicriso gariga, vegetated sea cliffs, arborescent macchia & thermo-mediterranean tree-spurge gariga. Usually as single specimens. Little data regarding pollinator/ecosystem interactions. Used an ornamental in alpine gardens/collections. IUCN Not-evaluated. Family: Geraniaceae.

Jacobeae maritima

Mediterranean Spurge

Rarely found native, in Capo Testa. Grows only perhaps in 3 locations (Valle 3B, 1st Valle, Valli Avenue), with assistance of anthropological intervention to protect from the invasive habit of Smilax aspera. Pollinated by insects, most probably bees/flies. Observed symbiosis with spider species in relation to catching insect prey. The white sap can be used  to treat warts/verrucas as a folk remedy. A widely used ornamental plant in temperate regions. IUCN Not-evaluated. Family: Euphorbaceae. Subsp. characias.

Lavandula stoechas

Wild/French Lavender

Grows in coastal elicriso gariga & vegetated sea-cliffs (chasmophytic), frequent in those localities but occurring no-where else. Forms the major definitive component of EUNIS habitat 5320: low formations of Euphorbia close to Cliffs (Coastal Elicriso Gariga).Pollination by bees, but little data available about ecosystem interactions. IUCN Not-evaluated. Family: Euphorbabceae. Subsp. pithyusa.
